Our Vincere API Job Board Plugin had been working great for all customers, but for a new customer, this wasn’t the case. A script that should take 2 seconds was taking many minutes to run, which isn’t ideal.
Lots of backwards and forwards with Vincere and no-one was any wiser as to why this particular customer was experiencing such a slow API. So we set about looking at our scripts, to see if we could streamline them even further.
We tried all sorts of approaches, some in the API documentation and many not, across a whole range of API calls. Interestingly, requesting the same information but in a slightly different way returns the data at different speeds. We found that certain calls for data are returned almost 50% faster, which over thousands of records results in a fantastic time saving.
Our Vincere job board plugin has been updated to feature these new API call structures, giving an overall 34% speed improvement on every sync.
The new customer still runs slower than all other customers, we still don’t know why, but everyone else is now running at warp speed making their job syncs even faster.
